Policies/Rates

  • Parking Infor (for In-Person Lessons Only)-

Where to park your car at the studio: information will be provided through text or email.

  • Tuition & Fees-

Late Payment fee: If the tuitions are not paid by the end of the month, the late fee of $5 will be charged for EACH week when your payment is late. Late fees cannot be waived.

Tuition: These monthly fees reserve a weekly time slot, which works like rent- one would pay for an apartment. These are flat fees to reserve your spot, or your child’s, weekly time for lessons, whether you choose to attend or miss.

30- minute lesson (ie. $115/month, 4 lessons)

45- minute lesson (ie. $135/month, 4 lessons)

$10 discounts given to families with more than one student.

Payment: Venmo, Zelle, or Cash. ALL RECITAL FEES AND TUITION WILL BE NON-REFUNDABLE.

  1. Tuition is due in advance and is payable on or before the first lesson of each four-week session.
  2. I will give out an invoice for the last lesson of the month through email. This method provides a reminder, an opportunity for verification, and helps students avoid service charges for late payment.
  3. Families should expect a yearly increase in tuition appropriate to the cost of living increases, expenses, and services offered.

  • Teacher No Shows-

However, the studio shall assume financial responsibility should I (Annie) become ill, be out of town, or cancel for any reason due to schoolwork or family emergency, that lesson will be made up, credit, or rescheduled as soon as possible.

  • Late/Missing-
  1. All classes begin and end at the given time. If a student is late for the lesson, the lesson will only continue until the indicated end time.
  2. In the event of a “No Call/No Show” to your piano lesson, your piano lesson is automatically forfeited. No make-up class will be offered.
  3. Please text or call (whenever possible) when your child is sick.
  4. Suppose you need to miss a lesson because of schedule conflict or for any reason. Please contact the instructor with as much advance notice (at least 1-2 weeks) to reschedule the class. Lessons can be rescheduled at the availability of the teacher. Please note that it is impossible to reschedule a session for another day in the same week.
  5. Snow/Inclement Weather or Transportation Issue: In case of snow/inclement weather conditions (ex: too dangerous to drive), or parent/guardian cannot take their child(s) to class; online lessons in the reserved time slot will be provided.
  • Termination of Lessons-
  1. Should you decide for any reason not to continue, I request four weeks’ notice. Tuition is non-refundable.
  2. Postponing lessons for any length of time will be treated as Termination, and the above rules still apply. If they desire to begin, they will be treated as new students: 1. There will be no lesson times available, and 2. Lesson times will be assigned to continuous students.
  3. If the student is not attending lessons consistently every week, even with advanced notice or valid reasons- I have the right to terminate the contract, and students will lose their spot.
  4. Inappropriate behavior toward me on the part of the student: This includes violent outlasting, swearing, defamation of character, inappropriate advances, or any other displays which fall outside the realm of shared respect and decency.
  5. Inappropriate behavior toward me on the part of students; This includes all of the above.
  6. Failure to pay month lessons in full.
  • National Holidays-

There are only two national holidays when the studio will be closed- Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. The studio will be open for lessons on all other federal holidays for those who choose to be here. If you’re away on a national holiday, please let me know as soon as possible to try to adjust my teaching schedule to accommodate better those who will be here.

  • Summer-

I recommend that all students continue lessons throughout the Summer. Summer is a time when some people like to take a rest in many ways. Please do not think that way about music lessons! When students quit for 2 to 3 months in the Summer, they lose ground; it takes 1 to 2 months in the Fall to get back to their Spring level. They also lose their spot in my studio (see Termination above).

Summer is the perfect opportunity for excelling in your music studies. Some students may think they have less time in the Summer. While it is true that many people may go on a vacation, to camp, or family visits, when you are home, you have more time than during the school year. This extra time allows for more practice time.

  • Practice and Parental Support-

Sufficient scheduled practice time daily is the surest guarantee that you, or your child, will experience consistent progress at the piano. Learning the necessary skills to become proficient at the keyboard will not occur by merely going to piano lessons. It takes commuted practice daily during the week to put skills covered at the course into motion.

Music is not easy and can, at the time, become frustrating. Adults often take for granted that children are rarely self-motivated and lack maturity (and self-discipline) to put in that all-important practice session. With a commitment to learning the art of music comes the decision to practice regularly—consistent progress results in pride, satisfaction, and a sense of accomplishment.

For the Instructor/Student/Parent or Guardian Team Approach- I required parent/guardian to be present at each lesson. Please check out under “Lesson Program” for more information.

During the lesson, the mother/guardian will need to follow these guidelines:

  1. Please respect the student/instructor relationship and avoid interrupting or causing a distraction during the class.
  2. Please do not answer for your child or make excuses for them during the lesson.

Referral Bonus

Personal referrals are the best compliment a student and/or parent can give an instructor. The studio appreciates your referrals and will credit your account (2 Free 30-min Lessons) for each family who registers based upon your referral.

Use of Photographs and Videos

The studio may take photographs of classes, lessons, recitals, and events for promotional use in online and print materials. It is the studio’s policy not to include the names of children in any captions. If you would like us not to use any images of yourself or a family member, please let us know in writing or by email.

*To download and/or print a full copy of these policies, I will send the policies through email. The parent(s) will be asked to agree to these policies and turn in the last page signed at the first lesson by email or in-person.*
